About the Marvin Center Governing Board

The Marvin Center Governing Board's mission is to "advise upon and evaluate the overall administration of the Center," and represents the entire spectrum of the University community: students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The Board's broad responsibilities include all Marvin Center matters including the Center budget, maintenance, operations, services, and sole authority to allocate student organization office space. In 1963, the University Center Committee was created to discuss the construction of a new student union. The Marvin Center Governing Board was established in 1969, prior to the Center's opening, and has since played and integral part in developing and promoting the Center and GW campus life.
